Sharon Lea Hardin, age 82 (sorry Mother) resided in Springdale, AR but spent most of her life in Senath, MO left us on July 1, 2024, after a long hard fight with cancer. She was ready to stop treatments when they no longer gave her a quality of life. She was excited for the day that she could meet her Lord and Savior! What a blessing to know she was saved and rejoicing in heaven.

She was born to Helen Juanita Palmer and Boyd Kennedy on October 31, 1941. Sharon had 2 daughters: Tammy (Rodger) Pritchett of Kennett, Mo and Candy (Paul) Hughes of Springdale, AR that she was so very proud of. She was blessed with 6 wonderful grandchildren: Chad Pritchett, Katie (Lance) Penn, Dustin (Carrie) Pritchett all of Kennett, MO; Haley (Westley) Graham of Springdale, AR, Lynlea Forrest of Rogers, AR, and Josslyn Hughes of Springdale, AR. She was over the moon talking about her 8 great grandchildren: Camden, Jake, Finn Pritchett; Mollie, Liam and Layne Penn; Maverick and Mason Graham. She also had a special place in her heart for Owen and Hadley whom she babysat.

Living relatives also include brother Raymond (Rhonda) Edward Snyder, who reside in Bismarck MO. Their 2 children niece, LaDonna (Adam) Trease of St. Louis, MO. nephew, Steve (Sherry) Snyder of Webster Groves, MO. Her cousin Pat Palmer Cosby, who was loved like a sister who resides in Germantown, TN.

Sharon, the oldest sibling was preceded in death by her little sister Diana Kennedy (Bill) Hawkins two of their sons Tim and Dana Hawkins with one living nephew, Marty Hawkins residing in Senath. Preceded in death by her little brother Dennis Ray Williams who had a twin sister, Janice Kay who passed as an infant. Dennis resided in Kennett, MO with wife Deedee and her daughter.

Sharon was so blessed to have her Skelton and Palmer family in her life growing up and into adulthood. Grandma Emma Margaret Skelton Palmer and Grandpa Clarence Albert Palmer. Emma's sisters: Lillie Mildred Skelton Brooks and Rachel Louise Skelton Dollens her Great Aunts were dearly loved. Sharon felt a deep love for her aunts and uncles. Most recently deceased at 96 was Dorothy Long, Clora Jackson, C.M., Charles, Kenneth Palmer who were all younger siblings to her mother Helen born on 4/17/21 and departed first. Sharon was blessed with many dear cousins: Palmer, Long, Brooks, Rhodes, and Dollens families which she loved keeping up with on facebook.

Sharon loved her community of Senath where she had many roles; owner and hairdresser of Sharon’s Beauty shop; owner of Kampus Korner and gas station; loved books and enjoyed her time working at the library and always did her patrons hair for their funerals so later worked at the Senath funeral home. Sharon also shared her love for beautiful homes, gardens, and sewing. She made drapes, hung wallpaper, could do any hand work such as needle point, crocheting, knitting. She loved to stay up late at night canning her garden vegetables and had a wonderful green thumb. Something most wouldn’t know is she learned to drive motorcycles, fly a plane, and liked to drive fast cars. She loved Norfolk lake boat rides and fishing with Jimmie at Reelfoot lake. She was proud that she could do extra sewing and projects to save and buy Jimmie a bass tracker boat. The grands loved getting to spend time there with them too.

While Sharon lived in Springdale these almost 11 years you could see the joy in her eyes when she would say these have been some of the best years of my life, because I’m retired with family around, enjoying grands and great grands, making new friends and neighbors. She always got so excited when family would come visit her. Sharon’s love language was food and cooked delicious meals and shared them with everyone. She especially had a sweet tooth, and her meals always included a yummy dessert. She taught Maverick to make her famous strawberry pie to carry on that legacy. She loved being at home with her beloved animals: Dolly Jo her dog (named after her sweet friend Dolly Earl and Josslyn who we call Jo); Blu her cat: Bella her rabbit because Josslyn wanted it; many chickens Mason loved them; her indoor and outdoor fish. She always had so many beautiful birds in her yard because she fed them all. She took a blank yard and built a beautiful garden by herself with a coy pond.

Although Sharon had a hard, fun, interesting, imperfect life of 82 years she never gave up and worked hard at everything she did. Sharon didn’t have formal education and was self-taught everything she learned by reading. Sharon was loved by so many.

Sharon was a member of the First Baptist church in Senath, MO. She attended church with us in Springdale, AR to be with her family but it never lived up to the time she spent in her home church.

We will feel her guidance & presence until we join her in our Heavenly home with our Jesus.

We will bring Sharon home to lay beside her beloved Jimmie Wade Hardin in Senath who she loved greatly and lost too soon.

There will be a celebration service at the Senath Cemetery gravesite July 20th at 3:00 PM.

McDaniel Funeral and Cremation Service of Senath, MO in charge of the arrangements.
