These New V-8-Powered Cars Will Be Racing Through Your Dreams All 2019 (2024)

The C8 Corvette's 6.2-liter naturally aspirated V-8 might still use a more old-fashioned pushrod design, but that doesn't make it any less great. It makes nearly 500 horsepower from the factory, and sounds fantastic. This black one on eBay can be yours today.

Though Mercedes uses its 4.0-liter twin-turbo V-8 in a lot of its new cars, the AMG GT 63 S 4-Door Coupe is worth singling out because it makes the most power. With 630 horsepower and 627 lb.-ft. of torque, it's even more powerful than the company's top-tier AMG GT R supercar. Luckily for V-8 fans everywhere, the Shelby GT350 Mustang is still available from dealerships. With 526 horsepower from its flat-plane crank 5.2-liter Voodoo V-8, it's the most powerful naturally aspirated V-8 car you can purchase new today. If the Shelby GT350 somehow isn't extreme enough for you, Ford also makes the GT500. It uses a supercharged cross-plane version of the Shelby's 5.2-liter V-8, sending 760 horsepower through a dual-clutch transmission. This one's brand-new, and it's for sale.

The Camaro ZL1 1LE is the greatest track car GM has ever made, thanks in part to the car's wonderful 650-horsepower supercharged V-8, also found in the Corvette Z06. The Senna sources its power from the same 4.0-liter twin-turbo motor found in the 720S, here making 789 horsepower versus just 710. Sadly, you can't buy a Demon anymore because they're all sold out. But the Hellcat Redeye is very much still available. It puts out 797 horsepower using a retuned Demon motor, and it fulfills every nostalgia-filled muscle car fantasy you've ever had. This one's painted in a bright red paint, and has just under 1400 miles on the odometer.
