  13. Ammon says:

    Needs a tsp of salt

  14. The Ellis' says:

    @April,

It is a little spicy so I'll usually leave out a few pieces of chicken for my son and then pour sauce on the rest!

  15. Sarah says:

I've made this several times over the years. I also add a tsp or so of karo syrup to it doesn't crystallize. For the kids, mine are 5,3, and 1, add a little ketchup and they are good to go. I think it makes the sauce a little sweeter and not so spicy.

  16. Leni says:

Never heard of this before I saw your post, but I'm so glad we tried it! Huge hit here.

  20. Six Sisters says:

We usually use the Buffalo Wings Frank's Hot Sauce, but I'm sure they would all taste great!

  21. Price is Right says:

    Hi!

There are usually about 15-20 in the package we use. Thanks!

  26. The Bride 2 B says:

So I tried the recipe and was wondering how I can make crispier chicken? I bought the breaded chicken, but it wasn't as crunchy as it is when I get it at a restaurant.

  27. Six Sisters says:

I usually cook my chicken strips for the maximum time so they get as crispy as possible. I also put the sauce on right before serving. Thanks!

That's so funny to hear because I made this last Sunday night & I decided to mix some ranch with some of this leftover sauce.....I thought I made up something new but apparently this Winger's place already thought of that too LOL

I live in Portland, OR.....we don't have a Wringer's here. I'd never even heard of it until I came across this blog. These Sticky Finger's are to DIE for though!!! So glad I found it :)

  30. miss.marcedes says:

It was a little spicy, I just put a few chicken strips to the side before pouring the sauce over the rest of the chicken.

  31. miss.marcedes says:

Oh I hadn't even thought of that....I'm going to make extra next time so I can make some wraps!! Yumm!! Thank you "Price Is Right" for the idea!!

  32. Traycee says:

I am in NY and have never heard of a Wingers, but after reading this post, there is no need to! These things were so simple and so amazing!! These will be a staple in my house on nights that I have no idea what to make!!

  33. Darcy says:

There are 2 Wingers Locations in Germany. Hope you're close to one! I seriously considered an 8 hour drive to go there when I was pregnant with my first. They also sell the sauce and I would have family send it to me when we were stationed at Spangdahlem in Germany. Good luck!

  34. Leilani Margraff says:

    Making this now(;

I waited tables at Winger's for years through my undergrad, and ate more than my fair share of sauce in various ways. Now we live in Arkansas, and today the sticky finger craving hit. For date night tonight, we are whipping up a batch of this sauce, and I.cannot.wait. Also, this sauce will last for weeks in the fridge, in case anyone was wondering. Weeks.

  38. Amie Chappel says:

As soon as I get to the grocery store, I am buying the chicken strips so I can make this!! My kids and I love wings, especially boneless, so this would make a great lunch for us :)

  39. Camille says:

I have never heard of Wingers (I'm a Rhode Island Girl)...but I saw this recipe on Pinterest and I made it tonight for a party an it was a HUGE hit!! It'll be a regular in my recipe box from now on!!

  40. April says:

Made this the other night when I was craving some sticky fingers and didn't really want to spend the money for all of my family! Soooo yummy! Also passed it on to my sister! She loved it! Huge hit!

  41. Crystal says:

I fry the chicken for a couple of minutes after I bake it. Also make sure you let the sauce cool before you coat the chicken

  42. Karri Loewen says:

Any ideas on the batter for the 'bone-in' version?

  43. Dana Blakesley says:

i have made these several time and use the Frank's sauce. Delicious and so easy. We just dip the chicken in the sauce instead of coating the chicken. The sauce saves well in the frig.

  62. Momma Cyd says:

We usually use Tyson or Foster Farms.

  63. Laurie says:

This has been a family favorite for years now! It's rare to find a recipe that's not only super easy but also super delicious! We use as a dipping sauce for the tenders (Tyson chicken strips are great), and didn't even want or need Ranch. I use Frank's Buffalo Red Hot Wing Sauce every time and yes, do put the entire 1.5 c. of brown sugar. Sounds like a lot but it's perfect :)

  64. Cortney says:

Been making this for years & it's such a great copycat. We usually use it for the salad. Yum!

  65. Melissa B says:

I can't wait to try the recipe tonight. I'm curious - I assumed the red spots in the picture were chili flakes but there aren't any in franks hot sauce or in brown sugar. What else did you add? Or is this a picture of the original wingers dish? Do they use chili flakes?

  66. Sara K says:

This recipe was super easy and quick but tasted like I spent hours cooking it!

We used the Frank’s mild, so it wasn’t too hot. The kids and adults love it.

Coating chicken wings in flour provides a slightly roughened exterior, giving the sauce a better grip on the surface. As the wings cook, the flour forms a delicate crust that not only seals in juices but creates the ideal foundation for the sauce to adhere.

How to make hot wings sauce stick? ›

To get buffalo sauce to stick to wings, it's essential to toss the wings in the sauce immediately after they come out of the fryer or oven while they are still hot. The heat helps the sauce adhere to the wings, creating a flavorful and evenly coated exterior.

How to sauce your wings? ›

To make sure that every wing is evenly covered in hot sauce you throw the wings in a big (warm) bowl. Stainless steel would be the best choice. Now pour the sauce of your choice over the desired wings and cover the bowl with a plate or lid. Then it's time to shake the bowl with the wings and sauce.

How can I be the best winger? ›

You need to be able to cross, pass, and shoot with both feet. Many of the world's greatest wingers are two-footed and are so dangerous because they are able to cut in and shoot or drift wide and cross. Work on using you weak foot to control, pass, and shoot the ball.

How do you make sauce more sticky? ›

Add a little sugar

Sugar doesn't thicken in quite the same way as starch or fat, but it does make your sauce stickier, and getting your sauce to stick to the food is the entire point. Adding sugar to water creates a solution that is thicker than water, and further heating (boiling or simmering) makes it even thicker.

How do you thicken a wing sauce? ›

Instructions: Combine equal parts cornstarch and cold water. Stir together until smooth. Pour into your sauce and cook over medium heat, stirring continually, until the sauce reaches your desired consistency.

Why won't my sauce stick to my wings? ›

The key to getting the sauce to stick to your wings is the flour, Sidoti says. Before you toss your chicken in sauce, coat them with enough flour or dry mixture (aka a seasonings mixture or dry rub).

Why add butter to wing sauce? ›

Buffalo Sauce Ingredients

A hot, cayenne-pepper sauce (such as Frank's or Crystal) is the spicy base for this classic Buffalo sauce. Butter adds a velvety smooth richness. It also balances the flavors of the other ingredients.

Should you let wings cool before adding sauce? ›

Crisp the Skin

Bake at 375˚ until the wings are crisp and brown, about one hour. If you have sauce to put on your wings, do so just before serving to keep them from getting soggy.

How do you make sauce stick to fried chicken? ›

Consider adding a bit of rice flour or potato or gluten-less cornstarch to the wings. They will adhere just as well and create the same kind of surface your sauce needs. Or, simply add a hearty amount of dry rub before cooking for a crunchy exterior that is completely gluten-free.

Can I use Frank's red hot instead of buffalo sauce? ›

Melt 4 Tbsp butter in a small saucepot over medium heat. Once melted, add ½ cup Frank's Redhot Sauce, ½ tsp garlic powder, and 1 tsp Worcestershire sauce. Whisk the ingredients together and heat through. Use the finished sauce for dipping or drizzling over your favorite foods (baked chicken wings pictured above).

What is wing sauce made of? ›

In its simplest form, buffalo wing sauce is a just a combination of cayenne pepper hot sauce and butter. My recipe calls for a few additional ingredients to help balance the flavors, but it's still very straightforward. If you keep a bottle of Frank's RedHot in your fridge, you can whip it up anytime!

How to get flavor into chicken wings? ›

Butter: Dot the baking sheet with pats of butter–it melts while the wings are in the oven, and helps to add moisture, flavor, and it crisps up the skin. Seasoning Blend: The dry rub is what makes these baked wings so irresistible! It's a simple mix of paprika, garlic powder, and salt and pepper, and it tastes amazing.

How do you position yourself as a winger? ›

The Strategic Positioning of a Winger

Wingers play a crucial role in effective positioning. They strategically position themselves along the touchline to create open spaces, stretch defenders, and provide passing options. This enables them to exploit gaps, make penetrating runs, and deliver crosses.
